VENTS equipment fleet gets upgraded with a new multi-functional processing centre

Each year “VENTILATION SYSTEMS” makes remarkable progress in boosting the production output.

Each year “VENTILATION SYSTEMS” makes remarkable progress in boosting the production output, diversifying the product range, reducing the production time per unit and increasing the product quality. Therefore sustainable expansion of the intelligent equipment fleet becomes a key priority for keeping up the rapidly growing production. Following the expansion policy the company has recently acquired a U.S. made HAAS Mini Mill CNC machining centre for high-speed metal processing with extremely high precision.

The Mini Mill CNC vertical machining centre provides a compact all-in-one solution for combination machining of box-type and flat pieces of various complexity. The new unit is characterised with high operation speed and precise positioning, outstanding hardware and software reliability, small footprint and minimal need for operator attention. Besides performing a series of machining tasks the unit can also monitor the quality and conformance with pre-set parameters. The machining centre has a 10-station automatic tool changer for machining and measuring jobs. The software is compatible with a variety of CAD design formats. After ingesting the drawings from a common-type USB stick the processing centre automatically follows a pre-programmed algorithm to minimize preparation and streamline the workflow.

“The new machining centre has considerably reduced the production time per each VENTS metal piece while the production efficiency has grown manifold. A completely automatic workflow leaves very little – if any – space for human error. The extremely compact unit was easily integrated with our existing process line and now sets the beat for the entire downstream equipment chain involved in the production steps saving the precious workspace and resources. The turntable enables easy access to the blanks from various sides without repositioning. This is not to mention a plethora of intelligent options – for example, the 360-degree rotation capability contributes to better quality, precision and speed while processing metal blanks”, says Dmitry Anufriyev, the lead process and equipment operation engineer.
